The Reckoning by Alma Katsu

aaand got my finger there.  ignore that.

Immortals!  Magic and spells!

Ok, in terms of grabbing my attention, there are a few interesting plot twists.  It's not a bad book.  It's just.. well, it's not what I expected.  I thought it was a story about modern-day immortals (immortality being the key), but there are a few things thrown in there that have nothing to do with immortality.  Like affairs, for example.  In the end, it's just another set of human lives who can't find happiness with their partners.  Nothing larger than life, ironically.

Also, there's some head hopping.  Make sure you know whose thoughts you're reading, otherwise you'll get confused.
